Bio
Rory Brennan was born in Chester, Pennsylvania in 1988. Rory primarily works in the medium of spray paints and acrylics. His abstract style is full of energy and color. He graduated from Kutztown University in 2013 with a BFA in painting. He currently resides in the Los Angeles area. Rory has worked as a graphic designer and sign/graphics installer for the past 16 years. Creating an extensive résumé in the Philadelphia and Los Angeles area.
Artist Statement
I constantly draw my inspiration for my work through different life experiences. Stemming back, my main source of inspiration that has propelled my abstract art, was the unexpected death of my father. Abstract art pushes me to seek outside the realities of life, looking within to convey my spirit through paint. Painting is a useful tool that allows me to garner a better understanding of myself and the world around me.
My paintings are more about the process and spiritual connection I feel and create through this process. It is this paradox that interest me. As my intuitive responses come about, spray paints provide me an immediate and precise application to convey my creativity. Harnessing my emotion and energy through vibrant color and expressive mark-making, with contrasting fading atmospheric backgrounds, Im trying to capture my spirit of the moment through paint.
